Created in 2006 by Jack Dorsey, Evan Williams, and Biz Stone, Twitter has grown exponentially in popularity and its ability to reach the masses. Jack’s first sketch of his vision for Twitter, or “twttr,” as he first called it, is pretty neat and can be seen on Flickr here.
According to new stats released by Twitter last month, Twitter has hit 50 million tweets per day, which is up from just 5,000 in 2007, 300,000 in 2008, 2.5 million in 2009, and 3.5 million by the end of 2009.
